SSWIM Gets A Patron

SSWIM is honored to announce that the organization now has a Patron, who according to SSWIM’s organogram serves as a surety as well as ceremonial champion and guardian for SSWIM.

According to SSWIM’s constitution, the Patron supports the development of SSWIM through counsel or any other appropriate means. The Patron may be a medical or non-medical South Sudanese of  prominence and impeccable integrity who is willing to lend his/her prestige and reputation to enhance the credibility and integrity of SSWIM. He/she lends their  time, effort, contacts, influence, ideas, inspiration and other resources in order to progress the activities of SSWIM, its worthy products  or services. The Patron should also be willing to add his/her weight to the capacity of SSWIM to progress its public image and performance by attending fundraising events as VIP, presenting public event addresses among others.

The patron’s term of service is three years and subject to renewal depending on the provisions of SSWIM’s constitution at the time of expiry of his/her tenure. Moreover, the Patron is appointed by the Board of Trustees (BoT) following careful consultations with existing members and the executive Council.

The process of appointing the SSWIM patron took several months and involved members of the Executive Council who nominated professionals that they thought were fit to serve as SSIM patron. The nominated individuals were then shortlisted based on specific criteria. The shortlist of nominees then had their biographies and professional profiles reviewed by the BoT members. The final process entailed a vetting process through which the final candidate was agreed upon by the BoT members.
