South Sudanese Women In Medicine (SSWIM) is a membership based nonprofit organization committed to positively impacting healthcare and health service provision in South Sudan through the active engagement of South Sudanese medical women.
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve healthcare and health service provision to South Sudanese, especially, women, children as well as adolescents, and extend further to all persons requiring mental health services.
Our Vision
To be a premier, world class medical multispecialty organization dedicated to improving healthcare in South Sudan and elevating South Sudanese women in medicine
SSWIM Objectives
- Improve the health of South Sudanese, especially, women, adolescents and children.
- Advance the personal, professional and career development of South Sudanese women in medicine.
- Be a strategic player in shaping health and other related or relevant policies in South Sudan
- Promote and protect the unique interests of South Sudanese women in medicine within different state and non-state formations as well as processes.
- Facilitate networking between South Sudanese women and other nationals in the field of medicine at state, national, regional and international level.
Membership
The memberships of SSWIM are voluntary and open to all female South Sudanese medical doctors, pharmacists or dentists interested in the organization’s mission, vision, objectives and activities. The organization also welcomes membership from female students pursuing undergraduate degree courses in the above-mentioned fields of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry.
Male and female South Sudanese who do not fall in the above categories shall attain membership either as associate or honorary members. Read more about SSWIM membership categories and how you can join us.
